NAVODIT MEHRA

Navodit Mehra is a seasoned legal professional with over Three decades of extensive experience in Legal Affairs, Aviation, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, Contracts/Compliance, Labour and Employment Law, Intellectual Property, Consumer Litigation, Product Liabilities and Environment, Health, And Safety (EHS) Issues. He has held leadership positions, including Head of Legal at Air Deccan, Vice President & General Counsel at SREI, Vice President Legal at Havells, and General Manager Legal & Compliance at Samsung Electronics, Senior Vice President – Legal at Sterlite Power (Vedanta Group).

Backed by an extensive background in the aviation industry, Mr. Mehra has made significant contributions by facilitating the acquisition of over 200 aircraft for various airlines in India. His aviation experience spans working with Air Sahara and Air Deccan, where he played instrumental roles. He has demonstrated a proven track record in successfully navigating complex deals, mergers, acquisitions, and arbitrations. He has also spearheaded an International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration in Paris and got award for the organisation. 

Throughout his career as General Counsel and Head of legal, he has demonstrated a strong ability to work in multicultural environments and has a “will do” approach to achieve desired results in the organization’s best interest. He has a client-centric focus and a track record of creating litigation-free environments.  He has played a pivotal role in shaping legal discourse and influencing policy decisions, some of his notable accomplishments include devising and implementing contract management systems, reducing bulk consumer litigation, establishing a lawyers’ network across India, supporting business growth, influencing policies on bidding processes and payment mechanisms, and reducing right-of-way cases during the pandemic.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, he is also a member of the Advisory Board at VRKP, a TMT bar manufacturer, further showcasing his broad corporate experience. He has been recognized as “India’s Finest In-House Counsel” by the Indian Corporate Counsel Association. He has received several awards, and he has also served as a member of the jury for several recognized awards. He is a sought-after keynote speaker at various forums and has appeared on TV news channels to provide his views on various subjects.
